Charitable Purpose:

To raise awareness (where appropriate) in the public, veterinary, commercial and government domains of any pet product, veterinary procedure or other practice that may cause harm to pets where these matters are not being addressed elsewhere, or specifically, by other organisations.

This may involve the promotion of any system or product that is deemed to effect change to alleviate that harm.

Trading should be limited to specific areas that uphold the constitution – ie. the general sale (where appropriate) of merchandise or promotional goods, or specific products that further the effect of the organisation. It should be taken into consideration that should it be shown that trading in excess of this would be beneficial to the purpose and in the raising of funds, then an appropriate trading company should be established for that purpose and for profits to be donated in full to The Pet Parents’ Action Group.

The charitable purpose may be amended by majority decision of the trustees.

The purpose is therefore without restriction to any practice that it deems to fall into those areas stated above.

Register of members'/trustees' interests:

Any PWA initiative should be first and foremost in accordance with its charitable purpose over and above any consideration towards its members/trustees or their interests.

Grandma Loves The Dog (www.GrandmaLovesTheDog.com) is an online/mail order business run by Catherine and Rob that sells natural/alternative products/services for animals (and humans). It has been agreed by all trustees that promotion of any product through the PWA should be limited to those products that will be to the advancement of the PWA charitable purpose, and should such products be available to purchase via Grandma Loves The Dog, no endorsement shall be made via the PWA unless specifically required. Where it is appropriate to advise of where any such product can be purchased, the PWA will also advise that those products are also available from other retailers. No advantage or sales opportunity shall be sought via the PWA.

Catherine and Rob also run Canine Health Concern (CHC - www.canine-health-concern.org.uk) - a non-profit UK-based animal welfare organisation. Specifically to provide information for the advancement of health in dogs. Because of the nature of CHC it is not inappropriate to highlight its work - indeed - part of the PWA's first campaign is using research intiated by CHC.

Naturally Healthy Dogs (NHD - www.NaturallyHealthyDogs.co.uk) is a business that promotes and sells natural diet and healthcare products. It has been agreed by all trustees that promotion of any product through the PWA should be limited to those products that will be to the advancement of the PWA charitable purpose, and should such products be available to purchase via NHD, no endorsement shall be made via the PWA unless specifically required. Where it is appropriate to advise of where any such product can be purchased, the PWA will also advise that those products are also available from other retailers. No advantage or sales opportunity shall be sought via the PWA.
