The Pet Welfare Alliance
The Pet Welfare Alliance is a worldwide group of pet owners, vets, healthcare practitioners, trainers/behaviourists, people from every area of the canine world.
The Pet Welfare Alliance was originally formed in 2012 as The Pet Parents' Union and amended shortly afterwards to The Pet Parents' Action Group. It was decided that the Pet Welfare Alliance was a more suitable and descriptive name for its purpose.
Based in Scotland, it is a non-profit organisation (not a registered charity) as follows:
A notice to supporters
It is apparent that charitable status won’t bring very many benefits. It won’t further our aim to help the animals. But it will impose a very heavy burden upon us in terms of red tape and administration. We have therefore decided to retain the Pet Welfare Alliance as an international arm of Canine Health Concern.
Purpose:
To raise awareness (where appropriate) in the public, veterinary, commercial and government domains of any pet product, veterinary procedure or other practice that may cause harm to pets where these matters are not being addressed elsewhere, or specifically, by other organisations.
This may involve the promotion of any system or product that is deemed to effect change to alleviate that harm.
The purpose is therefore without restriction to any practice that it deems to fall into those areas stated above.
