Arpitaa Pandey and her husband Nitesh are proud pet parents to three canine angels: Duke the Labrador, Boris the Doberman, and Oscar the Rottweiler.
Being a follower of a very healthy life style herself, from the beginning of her journey with dogs, Arpitaa discarded processed dog food and put her pets on healthy fresh foods like chicken, mutton, fish, eggs, vegetables, freshly ground flaxseeds, fruits, apple cider vinegar etc.
Disillusioned with conventional veterinary medicine, Arpitaa is horrified to see that vets in India promote commercial junk food as ‘balanced and the best’ and annual vaccination. Her three pets are raised homoeopathically, have no annual boosters, and are on a raw food diet, which vastly improved their health.
”The problem in India is deep,” says Arpitaa. “Awareness is very scarce. Dog food, pets and vaccines are huge money making businesses that have recently begun here, so vets, dog food companies, breeders and the pharma have thrived big time.”
For some time, Arpitaa and her husband have been trying to educate their friends and acquaintances in India on the dangers of commercial dog food and vaccination.
In her question to provide a healthier environment for pets, Arpitaa has also started an awareness movement on Facebook along with a dog trainer friend, hoping to spread the benefits of natural rearing to others. She is a Reiki Grand Master and has used this energy therapy to help many animals over the years.
