The American Council of Animal Naturopathy (US)
The American Council of Animal Naturopathy (ACAN) was founded on May 5, 2010. Our purpose is to provide a community of professionals in the natural animal care profession as well as offering education, continuing education and certification that reflects and upholds the highest professional standards of practice for animal naturopaths and those specializing in a natural healing modality.
To that end, examinations and certifications are available to veterinary naturopaths, holistic veterinarians, natural animal health consultants and specialty practitioners.
Our desire is to build leaders in the field of animal naturopathy!
The American Council of Animal Naturopathy (ACAN) is the only education available in true animal naturopathy and board certifying organization of its kind for animal/veterinary naturopaths. ACAN also recognizes differing levels of expertise, education and specialty for the natural animal care consultant and/or practitioner. Whether you are a holistic veterinarian, veterinary naturopath, Iridologist, animal aromatherapist, natural animal care consultant, animal herbalist, etc. you have studied and worked hard to earn your expertise and specialization. A.C.A.N. acknowledges your credentials and offers certification in specific areas of animal health and wellness.
Certification through ACAN, as a professional in your field showcases your commitment, experience and dedication to consumers seeking your services and can lead to higher visibility, opportunities, and employment.
We are the only board certifying organization world-wide that recognizes your unique niche and expertise in the field of natural animal health.
As animal naturopaths and instructors in the field of natural animal health, the founding members of ACAN developed a set of standards for the discipline. These core competencies reflect the knowledge required to practice or consult as a qualified professional in the animal naturopathic discipline or one of its specialty modalities. From this set of core competencies, a standardized examination has been developed.
